the day falls to dawn.
smiles overdrawn.
it fades to black and white,
all happiness is trite.
so numbers label thee,
then leaves fall from the tree.
when nothing gold can stay,
to all that time betrays,
and growing up is but another second of delay.
you keep it in your pocket,
claim it in your locket.
your past is what consumes you,
yet there's still an empty socket,
fill it up with joy.
still wished you were a boy.
you wish to go annoy,
but he will always destroy.
the keeper of the clock,
is nothing but a rock;
he's always on the move for one's lifetime to mock.
to youth, I say, go live your life, despite all of the damage.
don't let the keeper bind you. let him hide behind a bandage.
stay golden, frost, stay golden.
don't lose your second hand.
go run around with tinker bell, the kids and Peter Pan.
I dare to say stay young,
it's one thing I cannot do.
but trust my word as I say;
I see my dream in all of you.
