Hey everyone, so I have some Good News and Bad News

Bad News: I've been pretty busy with work, so I won't be able to update "Something in the Summer Wind" this month/week.

Good News: I have decided to publish my Next Gen AU spinoff for "Something in the Summer Wind" instead. Or at the very least the Main Characters list.

This AU contains massive spoilers for my version of Secrets of Sulphur Springs (mainly for Summer Wind's characters and my SoSS OC Indigo's backstory).

Here's a snippet of the book and its summary.
          — — — — — — —
Book Title: Legacies of Tremont [LoT for short]

Summary: 25 years ago, a terrible tragedy struck the Tremont Hotel and lives were never the same. Fast forward to 2047. A new generation has been drawn to the illusive haunted hotel; while the Older Generation are still dealing with the wounds time has left behind. Join the Tremont gang (both old and new) as they uncover the secrets and mysteries behind the hotel's haunting.
          — — — — — — —

One thing you should know about me is that I tend to ramble/overshare my writing process. So, here's my question, should I:-
          (1) Create a Separate Book to explain my worldbuilding lore (and avoid severe info-dumping); or
          (2) Merge the Behind-the-Scenes with the actual fic altogether?

Now there's pros and cons to each of the option, but I just wanna hear your thoughts about it.

I'm super excited for the family trees. Whoo! :D

@zealous_light that sounds like a good idea. Tho I will keep some of the more spoilery segments away until later scenes. But the general stuff I'd share are Family Trees (just the simpler versions) and character designs

Yes I've actually made the family tree that dates from Elijah/Grace (and the Carlton-Porter family) all the way down to Nick's generation.

@Ghostwriter0411 As someone who adores your lore for LoT AU, I say merge it together so that it can all be in the same book. That's my opinion of course :)

I've finally posted my Secrets of Sulphur Springs x High School Musical The Musical The Series fanfic!

Here's the playlist I made for the mood: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOgVvaU0UxeVzmEy1yAQqEvV7AeZKEzxt

I'm pretty sure the Legacies of Tremont (LoT) AU won't be posted until I get to SoSS season 3 because that Next Gen story features lots of spoilers for Bad Future 1

Ghostwriter0411

So since I am a fan of High School Musical the Musical the Series (mainly EJ who's grown to be my favorite character) and I'm also a fan of Secrets of Sulphur Springs, this brings the crossover nobody asked for.

Secrets of Sulphur Springs starts at the end of Summer 2020 (in which Griffin and Harper have started school). HSMTMTS season 3 also took place in Summer 2020. Coincidence? I think not.

This fanfic is basically a Canon Divergent AU that differs completely from whatever season 4 will bring (because I am terrified of Hobo looking EJ), and will feature Original Characters (Ten and Jeonghan who belong to my friend @zealous_light, and my HSMTMTS OC Cress Kormos and SoSS OC Indigo Robinson-Barker)

Here's the summary I have for "Something in the Summer Wind" so far: -
          -------------------------------------------
After the disastrous Frozen the Documentary the Trailer premier, EJ needed an escape. Away from Salt Lake City and away from his father. And so he and his two best friends decided to go on their Senior Year Road Trip all the way to his Aunt Sarah's new place…the Tremont Hotel in Sulphur Springs, Louisiana.

All he wanted was to spend more time with his younger cousins and his relatives …and perhaps try to get over his recent breakup. Being dragged into time traveling by his cousin Griffin and his two new friends and uncovering the past was NOT on his bucket list!

Or in which, EJ Caswell is related to the Campbell family. Or Traumatized Theater Kids and Time Travel mix surprisingly well.

Ghostwriter0411

@zealous_light I'm already scared of what canon EJ is gonna go through so might as well re-traumatize him just to give him a better ending

Me : Creates a 'High School Musical The Musical The Series' x 'Secrets of Sulphur Springs' crossover story nobody asked for

Also Me: Creates a Next Gen AU spinoff story that's based off SoSS season 3's Bad Future 1 to cure that ✨Generational Trauma✨

@GuitarGod2147 Unfortunately I haven't posted both those stories yet but I plan to post the first one (Something in the Summer Wind) soon.

Here are a few things I will share for the Next Gen AU/Legacies of Tremont AU (because it contains spoilers for my take on season 3): -
            (1) Nick exists, but only as Harper's son (the father in question is Mitch/the guy seen complimenting Harper in Bad Future 1 homecoming)
            (2) the new Tremont gang are uncovering mysteries at the abandoned Hotel. the OG Tremont gang and Golden Gremlins (EJ and his friends) are now adults dealing with their own problems that will parallel the show's season 1-3 moments
            (3) Nick befriends a 9 year old Sara Campbell (Griffin's daughter. Yes she's named after her grandma) and a minor subplot involves them pulling a Parent Trap/Harffin reunion with their (very single) parents
