Speaking of TDC deleted scenes (no one is speaking of them rn except for me, but shh), "OUTRUN A TRAIN". Has anyone seen it? Because you should. As a die-hard Gally girl, that scene was INVALUABLE to me. And it was pretty amazing altogether. It got cut for technical reasons, but honestly... if I had to choose ONE deleted scene that definitely should've made it into the movie, that would be it. Like, c'mon, y'all. It's three minutes long. You could've squeezed in another three minutes. But anyway, it shows so much character. Specifically, for Gally. Gally, without hesitation, pushed Thomas away from the tracks and ran to help Newt, jumping in front a GODDAMN TRAIN. To save his friends. The friends who left him for dead (or so it seemed, ref: “No, you left me to die”). The same friends he watched run off into the Maze. But none of that matters, because those are still his friends. Gally’s selflessness in that scene alone is enough to redeem him, for anyone who thought he needed redemption to begin with. Why do I love him as much I do? Well, there are many reasons. But that one right there is in the Top 3. He was never a villain and he was never a bully. He always cared about his friends and always wanted to protect them. So many people could stand to see that.

@tbdangster Yes! As far as his behaviour towards Thomas in the first movie goes, if I were to put myself in his shoes, I would ABSOLUTELY act the same way. Don't get me wrong, I do love Tommy-boy. But looking at it from Gally's standpoint... yeah. He's been there for three years. He has earned his place and respect in the Glade. With no memories of his past life, Gally (along with most other guys) understands that the Gladers, his friends, are the closest thing any of them would ever have to a family. And then, in comes Thomas. A stranger, a Greenie, and proceeds being a tornado. Also, Gally was more than welcoming to him before he started breaking the rules. (Ref: "That, my friend, was a Griever. Don't worry, you're safe here with us.") Like... Hostility, where? Gally was completely willing to accept him as one of their own and to be his friend. But then Thomas had to go do this and that and risk the safety of the Glade. Of course Gally wouldn't like that, who would? True, perhaps he does go a little overboard towards the end, but he is driven to it, his actions don't come out of nowhere. "I don't want to have to cross any more names of f that wall." Like... bad character? Villain? Are you kidding me? His motivation is literally right there. Phew... Somebody stop me, I could go on about this for hours. Glad I'm not alone. Rant over. Love you, boo <3

I know, right? The only reason people see him as a bully in the first place is because of his behaviour towards Thomas in the first film, which made sense if you think about it. In all honesty (as much as I love Tommy), Thomas is a bit of a dumbass. Gally was just trying to protect his friends. His FAMILY. Gally is a wonderful character and is one of my absolute favorites (an EXTREMELY close second after Newt). I’m glad that the others welcomed him back, but he deserved more sympathy. Can we all remind ourselves that Gally was just as upset when Newt died? You could see the disappointment in his eyes because he felt it was his fault. He wanted to save everyone just as much as (IF NOT MORE THAN) Thomas did. He was with those boys for three years. Newt said that Gally was his true friend before he was stung (right?), which gives Gally even more of a reason to be upset. So I give a big f*ck you to everyone who thinks Gally was a bad character. With that, I conclude my rant.
