Shark Sunday!!

Sharks don't have bones. They have cartilage, which makes them lighter and light oil in their livers, that helps them float. Sharks also don't have scales. They're covered with millions of tiny teeth. As sharks grow, they shed them replacing them with larger ones. When it comes to the teeth in their mouths, sharks can have from 5 to 15 rows of teeth they will replace approximately every 2 weeks. Some species can lose around 30,000 teeth in their lifetime.

Shark Sunday!!

Over 70 million sharks are killed every year only for their fins (that's around 200 thousand sharks every day). As a result, some sharks populations have decreased by 99% over last 50 years. If it keeps going like that, humans may wipe all sharks out in 10-20 years. And what's so bad about it, you may ask? Sharks are apex predators. Without sharks, the ocean ecosystem would completely break down as they regulate all fish there. Without them, seals would overpopulate, which would destroy fish populations that regulate small organisms. Without fish, sea plants would grow too much and in a few years, all water on earth would turn into something similar to one big swamp.

Shark Sunday!! (but on Monday lol)

When encountering a shark you should stay as calm as possible. When a shark comes closer to you, you can just push water in the direction of their gills as these are very sensitive. If this doesn't work, you should just put your hand on their snout and push them away. People often think that if a shark swims around you in circles they want to attack you but in reality they are just looking for your eyes as eye contact is important to them.
