A strong advocate of the mentally ill and the mentally disabled, Wendell Bertram knows their world inimatelyand from the inside-out. Born having seizures at birth and with what doctors termed "an undiagnosable brain dysfunction" all the way back in 1968, Wendell would spend half of his childhood on a strong mind-altering drug in the hopes of curbing and curtailing some of his more drastic symptoms. His overall condition has always been an unlikely mix of both mental illness and mentally disability, as he has suffered from a biologically-based condition that displays all of its symptom along more psychological lines. Ultimately, he would have to be declared fully disabled on a psychologial basis. A lifelong "compulsive writer," in more recent years Wendell has dedicated his time and talents toward his advocacy work for both the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. He has written (and continues to write) a series of books that deal with various facets of mental illness and mental disability, as well as writing and producing a number of songs and producing an entire video series.
