I've been writing historical fiction under the pen name of Louise Charles but am now moving to more fantasy/mystical/timeslip writing under my own name of Jo Lamb. I shall be posting chapters of my first fantasy novel, Wolf Moon in the next few weeks...

I'm a terminal people watcher when I do pick up the courage to leave the safety of my introverted world, mesmerised by overheard snippets of conversation, mannerisms and just people in general! 
I work mainly in my 'writing cave' a camper van purchased after the earthquakes here in 2016. Originally a contingency plan  if our home fell down but now has sparked a passion for travelling around Europe. I've learnt, the hard way, that home is not a place... it's a feeling.

I love to write first drafts in ink and a deliciously blank new notebook before transferring to a more practical digital version. I collect fountain pens and inks of all colours and permanently have stained fingers as a result.

I live in Central Le Marche, Italy, having decamped here in 2007 with my soul mate, partner, husband and my biggest fan; Simon. We live a simple life, with three dogs, six semi-feral kitties and four chickens. And on occasion a wild pig and her family pays us visits, usually after dark. Our combined, growing human family includes five sons, four granddaughters and a grandson, all of whom live in the UK.

Writing gives me the opportunity to create my own world, living a life through my characters, both good and bad, the chance to take risks, if only on the page. I can't imagine a life without writing in it...
