Thank you to the readers of Coal Black. I was told that the first one thousand reads is the is the toughest mark to get to with a new manuscript. I am proud to say that I have reach 1K read on Coal Black. I enjoy celebrating the little things and this made my day. Check out Coal Black (Book 5). Happy Reading!

I just reread my post from Nov 1st. Okay that goal so didn't happen. It is the end of January 2024 and I only completed five chapters in the rewrite. My husband and I are babysitting our granddaughter full time. I am so tired of battling wits with a strong-willed five year old. She is adorable but so tempermental. Did I mention I'm tired?

Happy November 1st! Last year I challenged myself to write a novel (60,00 words) to see if I could. Book #5 Coal Black poured to the page, and I wrote 65,000 words. The month ran out and the holidays took over. It took me two more months to finish it, (94,000 words), Then a second edit, grammar check, and off to my editor.
It is now November 1st one year later, and today I challenge myself to rewrite and edit Coal Black by the end of the month. As a writer, I love giving myself challenges. Always remember to celebrate the steps forward as writer. Watch for updates.

P.S. I have been reading voraciously this past month, and I need to get back into my writing routine. I think I have developed bibliophobia, the fear of running out of books to read. LOL!

Last night I had a "Meet the Author" event to launch my fourth book Scarlet Red. So fun and this morning my novel goes "live" on Amazon in both print and digital. Sadly, I have removed the entire novel from Wattpad leaving the first three chapters.
So what does an author do when they finish one novel? They start another. I received Coal Black - Book 5 from the editor and it needs a rewrite, but surprisingly minor content errors. I was actually told that this was the best of three books he has edited so far. Wow!
As far as writing, so many ideas, so many stories spinning in my head. Thank you Jesus for the rain for my flowers and the crops. Plus rain keeps my butt in the chair writing. Watch for updates! Happy Reading.

Remember to celebrate the small things in life. July 28, 2013 marks my tenth anniversary on Wattpad. It the summer before my last year of teaching. I opened an account and began posting Porcelain White. Ten years later the novel has 390,000 reads. My account has seven manuscripts with two complete manuscripts archived for revision and 775 followers. Wow!
Also this past ten years, I have made so many dear friends, writing acquaintances, and great reads. Thank you to my followers and the Wattpad Community. Life is good. Onward for ten more years of sharing stories with the world. Happy Reading!

Greetings on this rainy morning. The immediate has taken over the important things in my life. My writing has been placed on a shelf or rather a corner these past two months. It is kind of like sewing on the kitchen table and then having to gather the corners of the tablecloth and place the bundle in a corner so you can get ready for supper.
In the past two months, i have lost my uncle who was my dad's twin brother. It was like going through my dad's funeral a second time (Same church). He died of CoVid. His wife also had CoVid and developed pneumonia. She recovered and returned to their apartment. During a follow-up appointment, they discovered a tumor on her thyroid. She was too frail to survive the surgery to remove it. They gave her radiation to shrink the tumor and it worked but the fatigue of the radiation was too much. Two months later, we lost my aunt.
In between this time period, my husband and I lost a dear friend of forty years. He was my husband's college roommate and we spent one weekend a year with the Bemidji Boys and their wives. Last year they celebrated fifty years of friendship. This is the second one of our tribe to pass away and it broke our hearts. He died of a sudden heart attack at age 68.
My heart has been through the mill of emotions and I'm drained. Did I mention on top of all the travel that it is spring and we have several flower beds, a garden and lawn that needs our attention? We also have a second home in the southern part of the state and that is two weeks ahead weather-wise. I have considered changing my address to 2008 Buick Enclave.
After three funerals, visiting relatives and family and spending a great day celebrating my daughter's birthday, I am thankful for every day on this beautiful green earth. I hope the immediate slows down and allow the important part of my life (writing) to find a way back into the quiet daily routine I so desperately need to recharge.

Thank to the readers of my new novel Coal Black. I have posted 15 chapters so far. Unfortunately, I will be gone from my desktop computer for the next ten days so I will not be posting until the end of the month. Thank you for being patient. We hope to make progress on the house and finish a couple rooms. The devil is in the details. Happy Reading!

Chapter three of Coal Black has been posted. Apologies to my followers of The Redwood Frontier Series. We have been at my son's house painting and laying carpet, installing trim, and handing curtains. My laptop is a piece of crap and my ICloud is full. Such a dilemna. LOL! I will try to post what I can this next week. Hope the readers are enjoying Coal Black.
