"To be Kindred means to be made for each other. We are soul mates, Ida."

A few words from the ever dark and mysterious Rose Pierre.

So, what does it mean to be Kindred, and what does it have to do with my book, The Rose Garden? It’s my take on soul mates because the soul mate trope is my favorite of all tropes! People in The Rose Garden can see if they are Kindred with another person through their Embermark, a unique rune-like tattoo on their wrist. If it matches another’s, bada-bing, bada-boom, we got soul mates.

@JuneValentine No it's not on Wattpad. It was back when I first started writing. I do still have it somewhere but it's probably not that good anyway.

@lilshadowwolf which one is it in your published works? I’d love to give it a look due.

@JuneValentine That's wild I've written something similar, but not the same (and probably not very good tbh). Sounds cool :).

Hey everyone.

I'm feeling so uplifted about the future of my writing, hopefully this isn't just a passing emotion brought on by the dopamine that goes straight to my veins whenever it's the holiday season.

I'm taking two weeks off of work for a holiday reset. What should I do during this time? Anything you would like to see from me? I'm thinking of posting on TikTok more, but I am horrifically camera-shy. What helps you overcome that?

I was thinking of maybe adding some writing tips for TikTok?

Hey everyone! Life updates from me:

Finishing up the second draft of my book: The Rose Garden! So far, the second draft is 60k and I hope to have it finished by the end of November, as it's my NaNoWriMo project! After that, I hope to get it published traditionally, but if not, you might see a girl try to go crazy on BookTok.

That being said, I am in need of some Beta readers who aren't my partner, parents, or friends. If you are interested, please DM me and I will see if you are a good fit for it!

The people and children of Gaza and all effected during this time has also weighed heavily on my heart, and I want it to be known that I stand with Palestine and against anyone who believes violence at any level is an appropriate response.

I have taken measures in my life not to support people or companies who are profiting off of this needless war, and I am lucky to have a family member who was a well-connected minster in the middle east. She has used much of her public platforms to speak against this violence and to actualize those who are being hurt to American communities who may not easily understand the ins and outs of what is happening and why. This has impacted her directly, as people she knows, loves, and work beside have been injured, lost their homes or loved ones, and possibly killed by this violence.

That being said, I do not understand the full scope of what is happening, I only hope that it will stop and do what I can to help. I am not a religious person, so I do not pray, but I do not want to turn a blind eye to what is happening. I believe the most important thing we can do is continue listening to those who are telling their stories, and to do what we can (like, sharing, commenting, and speaking about it) to ensure that this massacre and those senselessly lost to it are not forgotten. For those effected, know that the people you have loved and lost will forever be uplifted whenever you speak their name and tell the world about them.

I know it's an old story, but I liked ut Werewolf story critique book. It's given me a lot to think about. Not only for werewolf stories but a lot of it can be applied to other genres as well.

As I said in the comments I've made a lot of those mistakes in the past and some I still do, but seeing them laid out helps me be mindful of it now. Also, until I read it I actually haven't wrote a werewolf book in a while and I'm not really happy with the one I started to write recently, now I get why. I'm taking it back down and starting over with it :). Maybe in a year or so you'll have a werewolf book you might like to read ;).
