So, I've heard from both the SCP fandom and the Creepypasta fandom, and I want to start a discussion.
More of you may be familiar with the Creepypasta group because of its popularity, so I will start with that. The Creepypasta group is notorious for it's scary stories you read late at night, but has no Canon story to go off of, besides the origin stories for the individuals. The SCP group is very similar in style, being that it is composed mainly of stories, but has much more of a timeline to it than Creepypasta's style. However, the SCP foundation Canon actually has multiple different timelines on the wiki, and the moderators specifically said that no one timeline is the true Canon, and that they can all be considered Canon to different people. This brings me to my actual question. Would it be better for a group or fandom to have no real Canon story line, or to have many seperated timelines and none of them confirmed to be the actual Canon? How would it affect possible fanfiction? Could it potentially harm the fandom?

If you were killed, I wouldn't be at your funeral.
I'd be in jail for killing the person who killed you.
          We are friends.
We ride together, we die together.
Send this to everyone you care about, including me, if you want to. See how many you get back.
I want you to know that you are an amazing friend till death and forever.
If I don't get this back, I understand.
          But here's something extra:
Once you read this, send it to 15 other people.
You can send it to me if you want to, but you don't have to.
It doesn't matter how many you get back, you are loved <3<3
Nobody knows how important someone or something is until it's gone.

This makes me happy. The fact that a simple bowl of soup and a small note can mean so much to a person. Not only that, but it demonstrates something mentioned in the Christian Bible, "treat others how you want to to be treated" and "you must be like a child to enter my kingdom, for they are pure". Notice that the people who drank the soup and hadnt treated their parents well had boring or bad soup, while those who treated others good and children had good soup. It's just so nice to see something like this :)
