Sehasasherala

Mother was reading tarot cards on her bed. I climbed up to watch her and sat there, admiring the colorful pictures.
          	"Ask a question," she said, laying the cards out upside-down like a paper fan.
          	I nodded and leaned closers. "Will I get superpowers?" I asked intently.
          	She waved her hands over the cards and, as if being magnetically drawn to it, she plucked out a single card from its line, leaving a gap in its place where the bedsheet peeked out.
          	She place the card right-side-up in front of me and stared into the picture, absorbing the information.
          	"No," she said, picking the card back up and gathering the deck to prepare for the next reading.
          	
          	Needless to say I was basically super sad, and p!ssed.
