Aphrodite's eyes bore deep into people's souls as long as he gazed into their eyes, how he stood straight and yet he seem calm with everything around him. As if he had no care in the world, and perhaps that's the case, he gave out an aura of cold-heartedness. he held himself so effortlessly as if he were both chilled and confident. His face would be resting, no smile nor scowl upon it, it was hard for anyone to read him.
Yet the crime lords of Gotham tried.
Fish Mooney had invited him to her club once, he showed up, had a few drinks, observed and then left without a word. She couldn't figure him after, the men she sent to beat answers out of him never returned. Mooney didn't bother going after him again.
Don Maroni wanted him to help with smuggling and protection. Aphrodite didn't show, but any attackers whom approached Maroni's men disappeared the next day. Maroni tried to find Aphrodite and speak to him on the issue, but never found the man after that.
Don Falcone visited one of Aphrodite's known hide outs, on the mansion of one of his most trusted customers. Don Falcone posed as a customer and got a tour of the hide out, Aphrodite knew that the don was there, but he sat back and watched, as if Falcone were a hamster in a maze. Falcone had Victor Zsasz track down Aphrodite to question and possible murder the man. Victor Zsasz didn't speak a word of what had happened with his encounter with him, He simply told the don that he had warned him and left, just as he was instructed to.
Aphrodite was an observer of Gotham, he watched the wars that started and ended, he watched kingdoms rise and fall, new eras come and go. Yet he had never seemed to have anything to do with any of it. But everyone knew, they knew he would strike one day, and that day, that day would change Gotham in a way it never had before.
