Hello!

I know that it's been a long time, and I wanted to give a life update since I know that I was gone for nearly a year. Last year, spring was chaotic, having overloaded myself with too-many university classes, and summer wasn't any better since I took even more courses then. The reason for all this is so that I could study abroad in Europe last fall, which was the craziest experience in my life, being able to travel around and see a slice of the world, and I have no regrets, even if it meant putting writing a bit to the side.

Upon returning, life just returned to chaos, with final essays, internship applications, and writing a research proposal for my senior year project. It also didn't help that I really struggled with writer's block when trying to write this chapter, so I apologize if this chapter is shorter and less substantive than expected after such a long delay. I'll come back in the future to edit it, but I just had to push it out because otherwise, I knew that I was going to get stuck forever. As for future updates, I think I should be able to get one out every three months, though given that I've finally overcome this massive hurdle of a chapter, I could potentially get one out by June.

Anyways, if you're still reading this story, I just wanted to thank you for supporting me despite not being the most communicative author. If you had any residual interest in learning the more behind-the-scenes aspect of making What Comes After, I did a cool podcast on TheFlimsyArtist's channel on YouTube.

Once again, apologies for the massive delay, and thanks for your patience!

Hey everyone!

I know that it's been a while since I've posted an update, and apologies for the 3 month wait between new chapters. I've been pretty overwhelmed with college and have barely had anytime to write, not to mention the fact that this chapter had many climactic moments that I wanted to perfect. However, updates should become more frequent, and I expect the next chapter to be out in mid to late May.

Outside of that, I hope everyone is having a lovely spring so far, and I'll see you all next time!

I know college can be daunting then the transition afterward, but I was wondering if you plan to continue the second book of your series?

Hey everyone!

It's been about half a year since I sent an announcement, but I thought now is a pretty good time to send an update on how things are progressing.

First is that I should have the next chapter of "What Remains Here" up in around two weeks. I'd like to apologize for the delay since I had planned on getting the chapter up about now, but unfortunately, my computer had completely died and the battery repair took more than two weeks. But I'm around 1/3 of the way through the chapter and am excited to share it with you all. All I can say that everything is going to change (and I don't mean this in a hyperbolic way).

In the meantime, I'd like to give a quick promo to JabberWocky Reviews if any of you all are interested in getting your book reviewed. Other than providing helpful feedback, the reviewer reads your entire story, unlike most other reviewers that only check out the first few chapters. So if that's what you're interested in, I'll link her review of my book as a sample of what to expect:

Other than that, I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer, and I'll see you all at the next update!

Hey everyone!

It's a bit late, but I wanted to tell you all that "What Comes After" has been waitlisted for the Wattys. I just want to thank you all for all your support since it really helped motivate me to finish my novel and get it edited in time for the Wattys. Anyways, expect an update for "What Remains Here" in mid to late November. I've been running into a rough patch in writing, which is why my updates have been taking longer, but I'm about a quarter of the way through the newest chapter.

In the meantime, make sure to check out chapter 2, and I hope you all have a great day!

Hey everyone!

It's September 17th, and as I promised, I have released the first chapter of "What Remains Here," my sequel to "What Comes After." I just want to thank everyone for their support, both my old and new fans, and I sincerely hope that you all enjoy this story, as Neal and his family struggle with trust and the ashen winter that is looming over them.

Check out my book over here: https://www.wattpad.com/story/281178521-what-remains-here

I hope that you all have a great day, and I'll see you all in a month with chapter 2!

Yo I just found “What Comes After,” and all I gotta say is “Life As We Knew It” is my favorite book probably ever and I’m really excited and I can’t wait to read “What Comes After” if it was inspired by it! Thanks :)

KingEmpo

Hey @PlushiePancakes

It's good to meet someone who is familiar with the source material since "Life As We Knew It" isn't as popular as some other fandoms. While my book doesn't have Miranda and all of the other characters in the series, I do hope that you enjoy my original characters and different setting. Any comments or feedback would be appreciated, and I hope that you have a great rest of the day!

Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I've made announcements, but I do have a lot of good new that I wanted to share with you guys.

First of all, I'm really happy to say that this week "What Comes After" managed to get onto YA's Interstellar reading list, which was really great. However, that wasn't the biggest surprise because it turns out that I also got onto Wattpad's Fresh Reads list, which is huge because "What Comes After" now has pretty significant exposure.

Once again, thank you everyone for all the support, and What Remains Here will be out on September 17th, 2021 (though I may post it a little early), so be on the lookout for that.
