American Girl Virginia is up.
This is the tenth chapter of a book that will consist of 50 chapters. Each chapter is a short story set in one of the 50 States, chosen in the order in which they joined the Union.
So far, Delaware, Pennslyvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Virginia are completed.
There's still a long way to go, but I feel I have a good grip on it. It's also fun to write.
Thank you to everyone who has read my book so far! I really appreciate it!

Good morning, Happy Writers. Does anyone have a writing project they are working on and want to discuss? Is anything stumping you, or are you flowing like magic?

@0valeyes It's always fun to find things in Barnes & Noble. I could stay there for hours, just looking at everything.

Well, she was an American girl
          Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinking that there
Was a little more to life somewhere else

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 1976

Sometimes a song gets stuck in your head when you're writing something. American Girl by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers is definitely an earworm for me right now.
My current book is about American Girls. It's challenging but also a lot of fun. I'm researching the history of each state to determine the stories' direction. I'm really flipping through history here and having fun doing it.

I appreciate all the support right now and the encouragement. I'm more than halfway through the 13 Colonies.

Each state has its own story, which is why I enjoy writing American Girl. So far, I've written about Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, George, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maryland. These are only a few of the 50 states, with many more to go, I'm feeling stronger about the project. It's confidence-building to work from state to state and story to story.
Have you ever taken on a huge project and felt stronger about it as you go along? Or do you feel it weighs you down? The more a writer writes, the stronger they become. What do you think?

@ImNotLudwig You'll do fine as long as you keep going. It's all a matter of experience.
