Here at the Lightnovel project we make it our job to promote all the light novels and anime-influenced writers and stories here on Wattpad, thus making it easier for readers of these categories to find books they might enjoy, and allowing promotion for the writers of these stories themselves. Consider us like Wattpad's very own original light novel library that has about every original light novel on the site categorized and organized by genre already for you.
A light novel (ライトノベル raito noberu is a style of Japanese novel primarily, but not exclusively, targeting middle- and high-school students (young adult demographic). They are typically not more than 40,000-50,000 words long (the shorter ones being equivalent to a novella in US publishing terms), are rarely more than a few hundred pages, often have dense publishing schedules, are usually published in bunkobon size and are often illustrated, mostly with manga style art.
Our goal here on this profile is to promote authors whose stories are heavily inspired by anime/manga, manhwa, manhua, Chinese Webtoons, or by Asian culture in general and contain any of these qualities of a light novel. Aside from the original Japanese, many light novels are being written in other languages, so if you've written a light novel in another language, tag it with #LightnovelProject and we will hopefully find it and add it to our reading lists depending on what genre it is.
Admins of this account are kept anonymous; solely for the purpose of focusing on the writers we promote, who are the actual stars of the show, rather than ourselves and our own works.
