I've always loved reading and writing. I devour books and I'm always looking at how the writer has structured their work. I fell into journalism after starting work for my uni paper - and finding that I loved the feeling of having a reason to walk up to people and hear their story. A win-win for an introvert! I worked on magazines and newspapers, and then I changed tack and got a safe job working for the government writing media releases and speeches.
I've been working on a story for 10 years now - and now I want to knuckle down and finish it. 
One thing that has spurred me was a naval-gazing exercise I did with my business coaching group a year ago. Their question was - if you only had three months to live, what would you do. I immediately thought - write my book. Nothing could be more definitive than that!
