Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I find it really annoying when authors don’t hold their character accountable for their actions. If someone hurt another, I expect them to have to live with that, and to either apologize or deal with the consequences of it, whether those be good or bad.
For example, (not a great example but,) don’t just have a character be an asshole to another only to never acknowledge that that was wrong of them, and just move past it to become the bestest of friends. I’d rather someone hold a grudge for 10 chapters than to have someone move past something that really hurt them without any issue or reflection on the part of either party.
On another topic, if someone went through something really traumatic, don’t have them be fine the next day/for the rest of the story?? That’s not- that’s not how that works. (I’m not taking about the different coping mechanisms like repressing things or acting fine, I mean them being TOTALLY okay/fine) it’s not badass, it’s just uneducated.
This probably made no sense, but have my little rant anyways idk LMAO
