After living in Hong Kong and Paris, I finally settled down in Montreal, where the summer is too hot and the winter is too cold.( No wonder the French settlers ran back to France.) My daily tasks included scaring off the raccoons and removing the odour of skunks, and I look forward to seeing the wild turkeys and coyotes in my backyard. (Mind you, I live in the city centre of Montreal.) Life cannot be more exciting, so I decided to write a story about two French-Canadian lovers in Paris. I needed some distractions to get over my winter blues, and the covid 19 pandemic, and the lockdowns and curfews, and the lingering smell of skunks.
