Update 2022: These were all lies.  She, in fact, did not write a single thing. 11 years and counting. I started Wattpad in my first year of  high school and now I'm halfway to 30!

In 2012, I was more focused on reading. In 2013, I wrote my first story on Wattpad (it went unfinished). In 2014, I started my second account and a new story (also went unfinished) that I decided to give away. In 2015, I stopped writing and focused on reading again - and attempted to write reviews. In 2016, I tried to keep reading and writing reviews and found that my new life didn't allow me time. In 2017, I abandoned reading to focus on my college career and to be honest, I'd never felt so creatively distant. In 2018, I renewed my interest in reading and I've read around 100+ books and certain aspects of my life were better, but 2018 was the lowest point of my life in other ways.

This is all to say, I'm dedicating 2019 to writing. Writing about nothing and everything. Writing about myself and the several fictional stories taking place in my head everyday. Writing not in the vain hope of finishing something. Writing not to stress myself. Writing not to complete a goal or check a box. Writing for me. Writing as an outlet. Writing as self-care. Writing as a personal distraction. Writing as an escape. Writing as it comes.

I've set goals for myself in the past and I'm quitting that habit. I don't know when I'll update or finish writing stories, but this year, even if it's unfinished, sloppy, and full of mistakes, I want to write. I've had a book filled with story ideas for as long as I can remember but I've never done anything about it. This year will mark a change for me. For those who read this and are along for the ride, I hope it won't be a bother when my work doesn't meet expectation, falls short on grammar, and is a confusing mess. This year, besides words of encouragement, I just don't give a damn. This year, my writing, while public, is for me.
