I'm happy that a lot of readers are enjoying my story about Gen.

Worrior_Wolf

Are u gonna make another book one day?

MarkCanter

@Worrior_Wolf I've written five novels. My first , "Ember from the Sun" was published in 10 languages. My second novel, "Down to Heaven," was published in four. I self-published my next three novels. ("Second Nature" is my third book.) All of them are available as Kindle and paperback editions on Amazon. I posted "Second Nature" on Wattpad a couple years ago and a lot of readers have liked it, which makes me feel good. I haven't written anything new for a few years. I'm an old dude (64!). My first career was as a journalist (I'm the former senior editor of Men's Health magazine), and my second career was as an adjunct professor of world religions, from which I just retired. I'm probably not going to be writing any more novels.

Hi James, it would be awesome if you wrote a review on your website!

The idea for Second Nature came from an award-winning short story that became an award-winning novel: "Blood Music" by the physicist Greg Bear. http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Music-Greg-Bear/dp/0759241740/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1345993948&sr=1-1&keywords=blood+music

I then read a book "Engines of Creation" by the scientist who coined the word "nanotech"--Eric Drexler. http://www.amazon.com/Engines-Creation-The-Coming-Nanotechnology/dp/0385199732/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345993872&sr=8-1&keywords=engines+of+creation

The science in my novel about mitochondria (they have their own unique DNA, different than the nuclear DNA, an passed on by the mother, not the father) is authentic. I also read a book by the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, Francis Crick, about his theory that life was INTENTIONALLY seeded on earth, by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization. http://www.amazon.com/Life-Itself-Its-Origin-Nature/dp/0671255630/ref=sr_1_7?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1345994106&sr=1-7&keywords=francis+crick

What did I like most about writing Second Nature? Imagining and developing the romantic relationship between Gen and Cade, and also the fun of having her being able to morph into anything she touched.

My favorite character was Gen. I would LOVE to be able to change into different critters.

I have no plans for writing a sequel to Second Nature, but I am working on a new novel now, which is my first historical fiction. It tells the tale of a first century Roman centurion.

Once you have written a review on your website, if you could copy and paste it on Amazon, that would be a big help to me. You don't have to purchase anything to write a review, but you do have to be a member of Amazon (which also doesn't cost anything).

In any case, thanks so much for being a fan. Check out my blog site on writing fiction: http://sellingstorytelling.blogspot.com/

Hey there! Would you mind if I did a quick review of your book on my website? I'm not that great at them but I'm working on it ^^

And if you'd be okay with it, would you be okay with answering a few questions?

Where did the idea for Second Nature come from?

What do you like most about writing Second Nature?

Who is your favourite character, if you have one?

Now that the book is finished and published on Amazon, do you have any plans for the future considering a sequel, future novels, or paperback publishing?

James_Janzen

That book... Was stunning. Personally, I think that it deserves to be published paperback. I'd love to leave a review, but I am unable to do so without purchasing it :( And as much as I think that read was worth easily $25, I'm not exactly the type of person that likes to spend money.

I will tell you that your book was amazing. It was really stunning, how well done it was, and I can't wait for another story from you. Congratulations on an awesome job and good luck in the future.
