Born in Puerto Rico in the early eighties. With a Bachelor's degree in TV and Radio Communications and an MFA in Film.

The impish Melvin grew up in the small town; Camuy, where he explored his creativity, he wrote from the early age of eleven, He completed his high school in 2001, after graduation he was interested in musical studies and started to pursue them studying in the Fine Arts School of Arecibo and the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico, yet he was always drawn to storytelling; he enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo where he started his studies in communication, where he stumbled into directing a short film for a class and became enamored with the process.

After completing his bachelor degree, he tried to find work at local production houses, they all rejected him, not giving up on his thirst for storytelling, he enrolled in the New York Film Academy for a trial period where he had the opportunity to use film for the first time, he returned to Puerto Rico with two short films and a music video all of which were awarded at a local festival. A year later he enrolled in the Miami International University of Art & Design, where he started his MFA in Film, where he directed, wrote, produced and edited two short films, and did his best work to date; Chemical Prison, and participated in over fifty short films, music videos, documentaries, reality programming, television programs, and commercials and participated in different positions.

Currently, Melvin resides in France, raising his family and developing projects in his preferred art forms; Cinema, Television, Prose, and Comic Books.
