I've figured it out
Like a smack in the face
I'm just too nice
For this cruel place
Not to be cocky
But truthful in thought
The source of my failure
Lies within my heart
For girls expect all guys
To be jerks deep within
And when the nice guy comes along
It's like they're committing a sin.
But it's not like us guys
Plan it all out that way
Sometimes we have no choice
But to act that way each day
For that's part of who we are
It sounds to good to be true
For all guys are jerks, right?
No, there are nice guys too
But there's no such thing
As just a "nice guy"
We'll always be "too nice"
Anything else is just a lie.
"There are no nice guys"
I've often heard girls say
But when a nice guy comes along
The girl simply pushes him away
For when the nice guy doesn't agree
With everything the girl wants to do
The familiar happiness turns to anger
As she issues a quick "screw you"
But the nice guy will do anything
And spoil the girl until the end
'Cause he wants her to be happy
And more importantly be her friend.
But that's the reality of this twisted world
Nice guys are never just "nice guys"
Guys will always be "too nice"
While others are merely jerks in disguise
So it's a lose/lose situation either way
For all us nice guys lost in time
We'll never be good enough for anyone
'Cause we're too different and too sublime
So the next time I hear a girl say
"There are no nice guys at all"
I'll say "Yes there are, look beside you"
'Cause the nice guy's been there all along.
