You know how many artists fear that AI art will replace them? I want to give another perspective to this. Most of the things we human make are never truly replaced.
Fire for example. Despite the fact that nowadays we have induction heaters already, many people would still profess that many foods will taste better either wood-fired or charcoal-grilled. Or even something more recent, 2d pixel games. A lot of people still play these and even prefer them over the newest AAA titles.
When AI art becomes a mainstream tool, we won't leave human-made art. Heck, even Oil painting still has its niche. Instead of thinking AI art would replace manually made art, we should instead see it as something filling a niche. Sure, it'd more efficient that way, but so long as humanity continues to see the intrinsic value in something, human art will thrive.
This was something I realized after accidentally burning my hand on my induction stove while heating up my dog's food.
