Nikolas Ashton Honoré, born June 10, 1997, grew up in Okaloosa County, Florida and now happily resides in the New River Valley of Virginia. He experienced a turbulent childhood that featured an absent father, a deadly case of leukemia, innumerable vicious bullies, social isolation as an adolescent, and struggles with religion. From the time he was able to properly hold a pen and formulate ideas into written word, writing became his hobby, passion, and coping mechanism simultaneously; beginning with short stories as a boy, he quickly inclined more towards poetry and songwriting after learning how to play about half a dozen instruments throughout his middle and high school years. When he wasn't writing, he was reading-- even as a child, his biggest literary influences included the original Greco-Roman poets and playwrights, and philosophers and short-story writers of the past few centuries. He recently released his debut album (which shares the same name as his second work, "Petalhead," and includes the lyricism found in the story) under the pseudonym Shyna, and is currently pursuing self-publishing a collective work including all of the manuscripts he's published here on WattPad titled, "Meet Me at the Sun." He's also working on a project EP with a close friend, and the second Shyna album which is to be titled "The Mad Laughter." He lives by a carpe diem mentality and is constantly consumed in his next project.
