@Emmaloveswine thanks for the reading :) I'm getting a minor in sociology so I always like to keep on top of these articles. It sucks that society has to rely on the categorization of people but unfortunately race exists as long a discrimination exist and modern society is constucted on the basis of discrimination so the concept of race can only be destroyed in the collapse of society. Claiming that race doesn't exist is almost like claiming the female experience/misogyny doesn't exist. Just because we know misogyny is a social construct doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So sure I can be like 'oh I'm a just a person' but its naive and actually oblivious of me to never consider my "race" in the context of who I am. I'm sure in homogeneous societies, one could focus more on classism but because humans love categorizing themselves we definitely can't escape it. I also liked how this article spoke about racial inequality in medicine because for the longest time and still today Black and Indigenous women are mistreated in the medical field.

Guys... guys it's finally done. Idk what to do with myself!!! Thank you so much for being there ahhhh and the patience during my dry spell. I had so much tobsay when I would think about "the End" but now that I'm in the moment all my words are gone.

It's that time of the year again. Black history month. I've probably exhausted my rants about how shallow and borderline commercialized (at least on wattpad) it is, so I'm going to leave this anecdote here.
          
          Fun fact: Did you know the only reason Black History Month is in February is because Abraham Lincoln's birthday and some other man's birthday is in February... I know Abraham Lincoln was very important for the freedom of Black people, but y'all... BLACK HISTORY MONTH WAS CHOSEN BECAUSE OF A WHITE MAN!!
          
          Yet more proof that this month is euro-centrism (and the perpetuation of keeping Black people in relation to their oppression) disguised it as empowerment.
