Why do writers drag on stories that were finished in the middle of the book? Maybe it is just my sleep depraved mind, but I just found one that was sixty-three chapters long when the conflict was resolved 30 chapters earlier. Also, she was adding in more conflicts as she went on, leaving me to think she was just writing on a whim with almost every chapter. The first conflict was very clichéd and could've been resolved within three, five chapters at the most. that wasn't what annoyed me the most though; Valerie was the protagonist in the story and she had cancer ( don't know which kind ) and it wasn't a big problem. It was kind of like, '' Hey, she had cancer and this could be a very interesting plot point, but why not just add boy troubles instead!'' I don't think there is an antagonist until the supposed conflict was ''resolved'' and his name is Mason. He has almost no character traits save for him being a dick, which still isn't really one. Also, he wants Valerie, to the point where he does inappropriate things to he during a family meet. Mason causes her and her boyfriends relation ship to start to strain. To say the least, Mason was completely unneeded and frankly an un-thought out, annoying, and bland character, almost forgot to mention he has no redeeming factors and almost most people who has read the story hate him. There are two more things I want to address one: The two love interest who were supposed to be far apart meet in the first fucking chapter and they meet in the most cliché way possible he makes her spill her drink on her self. Second, she left this big singing competition because her cancer and didn't even tell the person she is suppose to be in love with, the only reason she didn't was because she was embarrassed. What if you died, then what would you do? I wanted to ask this so bad.
I am done with my rant about this story and didn't just say this because I ship bromances in the One Direction fandom.
