This is my first attempt at writing a full story - though it didn't begin that way. Originally, I started writing short scenes and character sketches, mostly about Darius, without any real intention to create a book. But over a few months, the pieces grew and started to form something bigger.

I was a primary school teacher for many years, until a neurological condition - cluster headaches - meant I had to leave the profession. Writing became a new creative outlet, something to focus on and explore while adapting to a very different pace of life.

I've always loved stories that centre emotion, tension, and complex characters - and I'm still figuring it all out as I go.
