I am a lifelong reader of mysteries and historical fiction. The Mystery at Sag Bridge is my debut novel. I live in a suburb of Chicago with my husband, and I have two married sons and three grandchildren. My skills were developed through career and personal interests, writing historical papers and programs, grants, newsletters, and web site content, never forgetting my love of mystery and historical novels. I was a medical administrator and personal interests included board positions with the community library, a classical chorus, and the area historical society.

Lemont is blessed with scenic beauty unique to the Chicago area and a quirky history, which feature prominently in my stories. The Mystery at Sag Bridge is the first book in the Cora Tozzi Historical Mystery series. The second, The Mystery at Black Partridge Woods, will be released this summer.

The Mystery at Sag Bridge is a century-old murder mystery about a dangerous ghost, an amateur historian...and the links that bind them together.

After a demanding career, Cora Tozzi wishes only for a peaceful retirement in quiet Lemont, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. When a vengeful spirit threatens to take over her life, she must dig into the past. Using skills as an amateur historian, she uncovers an unsolved triple murder from 1898, a mystery she must solve to protect family and friends. The investigation takes her into secluded forests, a cemetery, underground, and to encounters with a vicious animal she believes is a wolf. The story takes a poignant turn when the story of Meg, a young Irish woman and of one of the homicide victims, is discovered, and secrets that lead Cora to question her concepts of motherhood and what she thought she knew about her own family. It is a story of two women, a century apart, discovering threads into the past and the future, and of loss and longing linked across generations.
