Hi folks,

I've just published "The Fallen Warrior" if anyone is interested in taking a peek.
          	https://www.wattpad.com/story/302554755-the-fallen-warrior

Not sure whether to leave it at a stand-alone short, or to develop it any further.
I'm regularly posting 100-Word challenges on my site https://pauljfleming.co.uk and this tale grew into over 1000 words.

So let me know. Should I leave it be or should there be more?
          	Hope you're all well! :-D

          	Paul.

Almost 1 month (23 days to be precise!) and I've begun to focus more on the writing amid the bustle of everyday life. It's a struggle as, by day, I'm stripping the bedroom back to brick for some remedial work on the house and, by night, I'm hammering the keys to try and catch the elusive nugget of creativity, but I hope that people will bear with me.

Today's news? I've finally crafted the prologue to Children of Earth and put it live under my works (https://www.wattpad.com/626199223-children-of-earth-prologue), which I hope you will take a moment to read and devour.

I do have chapters 1 & 2 completely written, and part of 3, but am taking my time to ensure they're correct before uploading them here to Wattpad.

Many more to come, but in the meantime I think I shall slink off to bed and grab some well-earned sleep.

          Talk to you again soon.

I know it's been a while, and for that, I sincerely apologise.
Quite simply, I lost confidence in the words which fell out of my brain.
I stopped writing and tried to read more in order to fill gaps in my knowledge and improve my offerings.

The more I read, the less I liked those tales I'd already published.
It was a deluge of information, and I found myself sucked deeper and deeper into the learning side of the craft - without actually publishing anything new as a result.

Then I became frustrated. There was always something else to learn, something else to read... some other reason not to write.

So I closed the books and began to tentatively type once more, to try and get back in the routine.

Yet, I still had severe hatred of those stories I'd already published.
          Makeover time!

Here we go. Back with quill in hand and freshly filled ink pot at the ready, I'm crafting out those stories with a new, fresh perspective before moving onto the others in my library to update those too and finish them off.

Check out the latest upload: Children of Earth, Chapter 1

Best regards to you all, and good to see you again!!

          Paul

This post has been superceded by the most recent, in that I've uploaded the Prologue and am working on the revised edit of chapter 1 this week.

A quick story that I scribbled out (or typed rather...) this morning.

It follows on from my novel 'Hijacked', but there's no need to know the whole of that tale to enjoy this little ditty.
Quite simply, it's the 23rd Century and technology exists to upload people's minds, creating digital replicas of them.
If that person dies, their employer may activate the replica to fulfil their role (for example, a key researcher on a scientific project) where their loss may hinder to derail a project.

Dr. George Lazenby has seen the future beyond the digital realm. Now he works to make his research bring his dream about, but in saving the life of his influential patron he is forced to face a serious question about his new technology.....

As promised and hot on the heels of Part 7 comes Part 8 :-D

As a few old truths are revealed, the trio contemplates their way forward in light of the odds being stacked against them.....

On a side note, if you like these chapters then please tell others who you think might enjoy them too.

To adopt a phrase from a large supermarket here in the UK, "Every little helps..." ;-)
