Nakia was born in the city of Atlanta - the other Atlanta, in Cass County, Texas. As an army brat, she traveled around the world and back again several times before settling down in Canada. When she's not homeschooling her five children, she's either chasing them about with whatever camera she has on hand at the time or writing stories that she hopes they will one day devour.
