I'm a historian and writer of Historical Fiction set in the American Civil War. I served 15 years in the New Mexico Army National Guard and have been studying the civil war since I was in books. I've been a civil war reenactor for many years and have been publishing fiction since 2011 with my first novel They Met at Shiloh. This has turned into a seven book series that will cover the western theater of the war from Shiloh to Bryce's Crossroads in 1864, towards the end of the war.

I'm a full time Microsoft Active Directory Architect with a large international company and make my home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I'm an avid cyclist and have the opportunity to ride almost all year round with Albuquerque's temperate climate and mostly sunny days.

My civil war series got its start as I wanted to write a battle narrative that taught as much as it entertained. The genesis of the story was to follow four soldiers before and during the battle and see how the battle itself as an antagonist might affect each in turn. The story then follows them in a 48 hour time span from the approach of Johnston's Confederate army to the surprise attack on Grant's encamped army at Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee and the aftermath. Other books have been spawned from there.

My wife and I are collaborating on a civil war murder mystery series set in civil war New Mexico and plan on spending 2014 writing the first three.
