I just finished reading the song of Achilles (one of THE BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN) and I was wondering if you guys would like to see a oneshot book based on it?

To all the writers I kinda need help?
So the story that I'm writing goes back and forth from the main character's childhood to adulthood. So chapter 1 is childhood, chapter 2 is adulthood then again chapter 3 is children and so on. So how should I conway this to the readers without downright saying it? How can I show the difference between the two?

I have a draft of a important scene but I'm not sure if I should write it in chapter 2(which I'm drafting now) or later. Would it have more impact later when the readers know more about the character? For context it's where the main character and a friend/co-worker discuss what "heroism" is and what defines a bad person and a good person in the context of a movie. The main character reflects on this. Can someone help me?

@eattheduck yeah the character I'm writing is around 14-16 a bit older. I'll try that.

@Nothingworkswhy1234 maybe try changing the vocabulary used in the different parts, like the adult would be more eloquent and would be more intelligent, but a child would have kind of jumbled thoughts, maybe with one or two words with an obvious wrong pronunciation

@Nothingworkswhy1234 Going back and forth from childhood to adulthood is a very hard thing to convey without flat out saying it. Though some details you can use is how the characters maturity since childhood, the different problems there facing like the kid lost his balland the now adult lost his job and other small details that help the reader understand what you're trying to convey into the story.

Y'all I started reading the Hunger Games, I started reading Catching Fire last night and I fucking love Peeta with all my heart. Even more than Katniss. Yeah I said it. Knowing me I read spoilers for MockingJay and now I'm sad....

Professor_Moony1234

@PandaTHOT69 Harry Potter is sad but just something about the Hunger Games makes me cry every time. I guess its how awfully simular it is to what's going on in our world right now?

Till the very end shows great writing, creativity, emotional depth, and descriptive prowess. you have truly brought a tormented boy and his demented doll into their own. the only criticism is that there is not more to review. just have to wait and see if you hit another out of the ballpark. never cease to surprise me, keep up the good work :)

Professor_Moony1234

@CLmauve thank you! Yes I'm working on chapter 2
