Alright, party people, final announcement for the weekend!

I’ve grown so attached to Leonor Reid and Ander de Lara from The Assassin of Time (by @RedPetal) that I’ve decided to bring them into the Atlantis universe (The Third World Universe) through a short novel called "The Assassin of Atlantis," starting July 2025.

The story takes place two years before "the Halfbreeds of Atlantis," and while it’s technically fanfiction, it will be official Atlantis canon. This book will build the backstory for beloved characters like Ashur Napahu and Ibris Mansa, while introducing us to Leonor and Ander in their past lives in Atlantis.

What’s most exciting is that while I hope to maintain the integrity of Leonor and Ander as they were in the original source, I want their story and what they accomplish in their short Atlantis novel to directly impact the revelations at key moments in my upcoming main novel “The Flames of Atlantis.”

(For those interested, the chronological order of all my Atlantis books is listed in my Wattpad profile.)

I’ll be publishing chapters of both Assassin and Flames in an intentional order to build immersion in the world while avoiding spoilers.

I hope you’ll come along for the ride!

I didn’t know I needed a slow-burn sci-fi romance until I found “The Assassin of Time” by @RedPetal49. This book blends dystopian time-travel elements with a well-paced, emotionally grounded romance. What stands out most is the way the relationship unfolds. No sudden confessions, no insta-love. Instead, two characters with depth and history navigate trust, longing, and subtle closeness. Every glance, every quiet moment builds tension and burns slowly until it’s impossible to ignore. It’s the kind of romance that creeps into your heart and refuses to leave.

It’s certainly an art form I wasn’t familiar with. As a traditional sci-fi/action reader, writer, and consumer, slow-burn romance wasn’t something I had much exposure to before.

The world-building is equally compelling. The science fiction backdrop feels lived in, complex, and plausible (although I hope not for all our sakes!). This book doesn’t just tell a story. It tugs gently at your soul. Red has mastered the art of seduction through slow burn, and I’m inspired. If you love dystopian sci-fi with deeply felt romance, layered characters, and a slow burn that scorches, give this one a try. You might not know you craved it until you’re halfway through…and completely hooked.

          GO READ IT!

(A follow-up announcement re: AoT coming later.)

I hate writing the end of a book. The last 3–4 chapters are always the hardest for me. It feels like saying goodbye to people I’ve spent so much time with, characters whose minds and hearts I’ve connected with and channeled. And this year, after dealing with a lot of real-life loss, that kind of goodbye feels weirdly heavy.

I’m trying to post the final three chapters and the epilogue of Sky Gods this weekend, but I keep hesitating. Once it’s out there, it’s over. While I know I’m diving straight into The Flame of Atlantis afterward, but still… meh, it's... ugh, I donno.

Does anyone else struggle with this part of the process too?

@missivylynn Thank you so much!! ❤️ You're absolutely right. I love what you said about Wattpad… the idea that a story never has to be truly final. That brought me some comfort. Sending a big hug back and thank you again for such kind, thoughtful words!

❤️❤️❤️❤️ The last chapters are hard. to say goodbye to a story that’s been marinating in your heart and mind so long … having to move on from it feels like giving up a dream in a way! But that’s the wonderful thing about Wattpad! The story is only final when you delete it! You can always go back in and add adventures or change things even years from now if you want to! Sky Gods will always be there for you to go back and re-read and re-write, and those who like it will always be willing for more! ❤️ Sending lots of virtual hugs and a huge congratulations on finishing Sky Gods!!

So while replying to comments yesterday, it hit me...I really need to submit one of my characters for a contest. If Wattpad ever runs a category for comedically clinical and absolutely unhinged characters, please let me know. I’ve got just the one.

@ProlixRemedy this sounds like a great idea! I think I know the comments for you’re referring to as well XD

It’s a make French toast, listen to old Bollywood music, and write Sky Gods kind of morning. Naturally, that means another chapter is on the way.

The story is starting to wrap up now, and while the action scenes aren’t exactly my favorite to write (give me angst and romance any day), they’re essential to the story, so wish me luck!

Sounds like a perfect day! Good luck! ❤️

@rikaaraji468 Speaking of summoning, you're almost at the Djinn chapter. Maybe we can summon *that* guy later.

"The Guardians of Atlantis" has officially made The Nano Watt Novellas Longlist!

My little myth-soaked, desert-swept, love-and-mysticism-fueled tale is being noticed, and I couldn’t be more honored. Thank you to everyone who’s read, commented, screamed, swooned, or just vibed along with Gavriel, Hathor, and the gang. This story means so much to me.

@ProlixRemedy Thank you! Yeah... I'm worried about a new reader. She just finished reading it (in like 2-3 days), and she's already several chapters into a second re-read.

Please stop and eat! And sleep! These are important things! XD

@katiegoesmew I will try to avoid that… as I would like to keep my career for the time being. But I can see why! Your storytelling is incredible!
