"Know thyself" 

I've been taking advanced English/writing classes since 3rd grade. I scored a 27 on my ACT and scored perfect on the writing section. I bounced between schools a lot but at each of them I was quickly recognized as a very strong writer. Eventually, it was just kind of agreed that I was the best, and if not, I was at least in the top 3 writers in the school. I say this as humbly as possible because I actually  repulsed at the thought of writing. 

Always being forced to write and with the bar being set so high so young I loathed just holding a pencil. When you love your talent, it becomes your passion. When you hate it, it becomes your burden. But the only thing school has ever taught me is my actual hatred towards society's way of making everyone bend and conform to its rule. I realized that by the draconian, systematic way in which these institutions are ran. So i dropped out. 

It was the night before graduation, several missed calls from the only college I was interested in plagued my voicemail. I decided I didn't want to take the same route all my peers were taking. I didn't need a degree or some fancy diploma to be successful. I'll make my own way. 

Life's roller coaster went straight off the rails and I'm still flying. Whether it's up or down I can't tell you yet, so stay tuned. Anyways, I went on a soul searching journey and got more in touch with my spiritual side. I started listening to my heart. The latin word for talent is "sum of money".  My talent had always been with the pen. My career will be something I love. I found my love for writing by looking at life with a new perspective.
