Just a little clarification for a small portion of the story. At the start of the story, during Kim Lee Hyu's regression, Diland was just newly assigned to prince Alexander before he was temporarily reassigned to assist with the preparations for the princess's birthday. The birthday celebration isn't fully complete, but he's duties were the ones that were completed which let him return early. Diland DID assign someone to watch over the prince for him, but he severely underestimated the amount of neglect the servants gave Alexander.
He was the one who took care of the other royal siblings, so he's very used to servants actually taking care of the children. Also, Diland was suspicious of the palace servants, however there are a few reasons he didn't realize the neglect immediately. He was still going through the transition of his responsibilities as the only princess's head butler to becoming prince Alexander's. Diland still had many duties that made it difficult for him to focus on Alexander's situation. Not only that, the servants actively hid their attitudes around him, serving Alexander properly only when Diland was around. Lastly, Alexander is bad at communication, he only knows how to say cruel words (it's all he knows), lashing out a lot and acting low-key feral. Alexander isolates himself willingly because he's terrified of going out, not wanting to get hurt so Diland doesn't really understand Alexander that well. Still, Diland was trying his best, but he was literally in the dark. So really, it was a riddle of bad situations that made it difficult for Diland to immediately recognize the signs of neglect and abuse.
