When I repeatedly failed to persuade my 'History, Greek/Roman/Norse Mythology fan' teenage son to to read Mahabharata due to its complex terminology, concepts and prose style, I ultimately decided to write it in 'Game of thrones' style so he could understand it better.

It is my belief that Mahabharata is so rich in story, complexity of plot, uniqueness of characters, story development, mystery, intrigue, shock, drama, emotions and a wealth of knowledge, History, Philosophy and wisdom that it is one of its own kind in the entire world.

Writing Mahabharata in Game of Throne style is an exhilarating task, first because it gives me a chance to simplify it and yet retain all its plot, story and character elements which the 21st century young readers desire. Second, it makes the story more credible, more relatable and yes more understandable.

I have also discarded all the God factors so the readers can see Mahabharata times and characters as normal humans rather than rejecting them as imaginary tale that never happened.

Similarly, I have tried to explore its major characters with a little more depth into their state of mind, their psychology, their personality and their problems.

My aim? I hope my son can read it and appreciate it.
