First chapter of DREDGE is up! I’m beyond excited about this Kylo fic! Hope you love it!

Rabbit241Rat

I just finished proofing my completed fic Cherchant and ordered myself a hardcover print copy because I am very proud of myself for having written a 400 page book.

That being said, I believe I made a lot of editing choices that improve the book significantly. The plot and chapters remain the same but I will be editing each chapter with the changes. I know that messes with comments on Wattpad but I’d like future readers to benefit from reading an improved finished product.

Thanks so much for the reads, comments, and kind words. This has been a positive and beautiful experience overall!

Cherchant is complete! Last two chapters have been published.

This is my first book and I am feeling a lot of things right now. I learned so much. I love this story I wrote of Kylo's second chance at life after the sequels more than I thought possible. Since this is the first thing I've made that I can't show most of the people I know IRL, I'm so glad to have found an audience here. One that I sincerely hope continues to grow!

Thank you to the big beautiful brooding man of my dreams, Kylo Ren.

Looking for opinions! Feel free to DM.

I’m editing my entire book in order to have a single copy printed for my pleasure. (The last few chapters might take me a bit longer to write because of this...) Being my first book, the first few chapters definitely needed work. Including tense consistency and typos, figuring out how to format dialogue... etc. I also made the decision to take the word ‘Y/N’ out completely and more creatively address that.

So that brings me to my question. I know that if you edit a chapter on here, the comments no longer match up to the specific lines. I don’t want to lose them but also, I want future readers to benefit from an improved and edited version of my book. Should I update it chapter by chapter? Or should I leave it rough?

          The story hasn’t changed.

I’d love to know your thoughts!

          Cheers,
          Rabbit

@Commander_Nanata That’s good to know! I definitely edited sentence structure a lot too though.

When I’ve gone through and edited things. So long as I don’t add extra spacing or new paragraphs. The comments remain. So if I’m fixing a misspelling or error it’s fine

Hey! I’m working on the final chapters of Cherchant and I’m feeling grateful and sentimental. I haven’t had a crazy amount of interaction with people regarding my story but I’m so so grateful to those of you who comment, vote, and message. You’re the best!

A little backstory about the name Cherchant. It’s the French word for seeking. My first tattoo at 18 years old was almost “Croyez ceux qui cherchent la vérité, doutez de ceux qui la trouvent.” Believe those who seek the truth, doubt those who find it. I thought it made a cool bar name, pairing nicely with a dose of sentimentality.

My first and only tattoo with words ended up being “Die of nothing but a rage to live.” From a poem by English poet Alexander Pope. Some yuppie a-hole at a backyard party made fun of me for it when I was twenty.

Like y/n I own a bar and also am an artist. All this to say, drawing on my own life to enrich a story in which I fulfill my greatest Kylo fantasies as been pretty awesome. <3
