Alright, important question for those artists who post things on social media (or anyone, really):
Here, we have Bob. Bob draws something completely original. Bob posts their art on Instagram (or where ever). Yeah? No problems.
Then, we have Jesse. Jesse has no idea Bob exists, has never seen Bob's art before. Jesse draws something similar to Bob's art. Jesse posts their art on Instagram as well.
People see Bob's art and Jesse's art --knowing that Bob's art was posted before Jesse's-- and accuse Jesse of stealing. Poor Jesse has no idea why they are being accused of art theft or tracing or copying.
Now, should Jesse have to CREDIT Bob for the "original idea" even when they had no clue that their art looked similar to Bob's?
