Excerpt From 'A Time To Heal' -

"So why are you being nice to me.. ?" I eye him suspiciously.

"Hmmmm? I don't know.... Why am I being so nice to you?" he pretends to think about it. "Let's just say a lot happened between last night and now..." he observes me "Clearly lots happened with you too."

I nod in a 'no kidding kind of way.' "I really am sorry about what I said." I look at him earnestly. "Sometimes I have a case of mouth before brains, it wasn't supposed to happen like that."

He let's me apologize and just observes me. My cheeks heat up.

"But an apology isn't enough... I know... I promise to be better."

I extend my hand towards him while he just looks at it

"You're supposed to shake it." I look at him.

"Oh? Oh! It's a deal sort of thing... right!" he takes my hand in his.

"These deals usually work better if you make one yourself."

He frowns at me. "But I've been the perfect gentleman since we met. You on the otherhand... Not so much." He says the last bit through his teeth.

I shake my head. "Anyone ever told you you're a goofball?" I accept the space he made for me earlier beside him on the hood of his car.

"You're one to talk." he grunts adjusting so we could both fit comfortably.

I smile. All was right with the world again, it's funny how things work out when just a few hours before it felt like it was the end of the world.
