I've seen a lot of new readers voting for One Little Spell recently, and to all of you: thank you :) I'm glad you're enjoying it.
It's been a hot minute since I've posted anything (like almost 7 months ago) and I've been very busy and very ill. I had my exams a month later so I was revising and then my Long Covid got worse again.
For those who don't know, Post-Covid Syndrome (or Long Covid) is "symptoms that develop during or after COVID-19 and continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis" (NHS England). It's a bitch and I have been suffering with it for almost three years now, since March 2020. It presents itself slightly differently in everyone, we don't all have exactly the same symptoms. But a very common symptom is chronic fatigue. I'm always exhausted and weak, it's hard to physically get out of bed and walking can be a struggle on bad days. I have constant migraines and feel short of breath all the time.
Since the start, one of my symptoms has been comprehension issues. I struggle to read and write and recently it has been getting worse and I sometimes struggle to speak and following conversations is difficult. It's not fun.
This is all to say, it has been very difficult to write more so I've been avoiding thinking about this. But I DO want to write more, I love this fandom and I love writing. It's just been hard. So I probably won't update any time soon, but I am trying to write a tiny bit more every day. I only have about 100 words in chapter three and I try to write about 2500-3000 words per chapter. Which is a lot. So it'll be slow going. There might be some chapters half the length but I don't know yet.
Anyway I just wanted to update you on where the book is. It's not abandoned, I just need some time. Thank you :)
