Hi, my name is Roshnee.

Yes, that's Hindu -it means light.

No i'm not Hindu my father is.

My mother? She's Sotho -yes that's a weird combination given the social-political (Apartheid) circumstances in South Africa. Yes i can speak Sotho; no i can't speak Hindi -my first language is English.

No i'm neither Hindu nor traditional or any other organized religion.

I'm educated.

My second name is Jennifer -my sister named me after Jennifer Rush -yes it's weird especially given that i'm brown and it's not even her real name. I have no clue where Vera comes from and as for Guptar -not those ones, you know what i'm talking about.

I'm South African. I was born in Pietersburg, now Polokwane which is north of where i grew up, Burgersfort -which was once Mpumalanga but now it's Limpopo. I work in Polokwane which is south of where i live -Louis Trichardt when it's not named Makhado, west of Johannesburg now formally known as Gauteng and south of Zimbabwe which was once Rhodesia.

I attended a private school in Johannesburg with the likes of King Zwelithini's  son and the late Lucky Dube's daughter even though i lived in a five room house. Although i lived in a five room house it was packed with music and movies and books and good food and a yard to rival rugby fields.

I'm black and bisexual -female and strong.
