After a year's absence, I'm back to say hello to all of you amazing writers and readers. The #planetorplastic contest has caught my imagination and revved moral compass, so I've decided to try my hand at short stories tackling the subject. I hope you enjoy what you see. Hello, and happy Sunday from Auckland.

Thank you to everyone who's read Flower in a Desert Town (Part One). I'm taking a quick break for revisions and edits before starting with Part Two. I do miss Tau, Oriana and Layla, so it won't be for too long.
It's also a good time to read other Wattpadders' work, my reading lists are backed up with juicy stories waiting to be discovered!

On a more important note, to everyone who has been/is being affected by Hurricane Irma, the earthquake in Mexico, floods in Texas and the humanitarian crisis in Bangladesh/Myanmar, we're supporting you and wrapping our arms around you. You are never alone.
          Peace always.
          Ruby xx

Thank you for the follow, Ruby! From your bio, I see you are not a stay-at-home like me.

@RubyHenson I'll be more than happy to help out. I'm a former weekend writer who has retired to become a full time writer—love it!

@WilliamCulbertson Pleasure! You're right, I'm a weekend writer, work to pay the mortgage and write for pleasure. I'll yell-out if I need scientific input which you've kindly offered

Hello lovely Bookworms,
If you're reading Flower in a Desert Town and you're patiently waiting for the weekly update . . . I'm afraid you'll be in suspense for another few days. I'm sorry :(
The next part of the story is critical and it's not quite ready for publishing, it still needs quite a lot of work and fine-tuning
But it'll be worth it, I promise.
          Until next week then . . .

Hello lovelies,
The most peculiar thing happened . . . some of you may have noticed . . . Little Leprechauns found their way into my story and meddled with the character names. The sheer cheek of it!
Luckily a garden gnome spotted the error while he read "Flower in a Desert Town" to a group of snails (who can't read).
The names have been corrected in the story, but just in case it all seems a little odd, here's an explanation:

Oriana's sisters are Emily (NOT Sarah) and Lauren.
          Tau's late wife was Sarah.

          Oops ;-)
Now, on with the story. . . The snails are waiting!
          Until next time.

Pesky leprechauns... I didn't notice, but then the cheeky fellow could have called the sister Neo con female and I probably wouldn't have blinked - I'm all team Oriana.

Hello lovely Readers,
Tau and Oriana will be back with an update this weekend coming. They've had an extra-long tangle in the sheets and kept us waiting an extra week. Naughty. But they'll have all sorts of delights and surprises lined up for you. . . It'll be worth the wait.
          Bye for now.

Hello lovely Bookworms,
I'll be a little late with my update on Flower in a Desert Town this week - I've volunteered as a romance judge for the Iron Lace Contest, so my attention has been diverted . . . Hang in there!
          Bye for now.

Hi Ruby - just wanted to say thanks for all the comments - it brightened my morning when I read them all.
Now I look forward to my African escape over lunch - luckily the 3 work colleagues are off today so I can blush to my hearts content.
          Have a wonderful weekend.

I was at a music festival yesterday & swear I saw Oriana - blond hair died shades of pink, heart sunglasses, denim shorts with embroider flowers and a cute top - only the guy she was with was Not a god-man so I must have been mistaken.

@MayaR-31 it's a pleasure, I'm thoroughly enjoying your story. I've forsaken all the other stories/books until I finish yours :-) I do hope you'll be writing another story soon and think about publishing some day.
Hope you have a good weekend too!

Dear Dreamers, Writers and Readers,
Thank you to those of you who've been reading and voting for my story, Flower in a Desert Town. It might be a little click to you, but it's a world of encouragement to me. Wattpad has opened my eyes to the power of a positive community and since joining in February this year, my love of story telling has been re-ignited. Thanks to you.
If you haven't been reading Flower in a Desert Town, now's a perfect time to start. Twenty One chapters of veterinary fun, loveliness and African sunsets await you.
          Join me on the journey.
          Peace.
