And anyway, even if some people say it’s just a matter of opinion, the current situation—mainly in the US, but with extremism on the rise pretty much everywhere, and Europe starting to feel the heat too—demands active engagement. Just doing nothing and waiting it out isn’t an option. People who don’t vote or speak up are directly weakening the metaphorical wall we need to build worldwide against extremism, so things don’t completely go off the rails.

            Hate crimes, the shit with the riots, ICE, racism in general (not as a baseline ofc, but you see my point), foreign policy, even debates dissolve into violence threats

            Anyway, all that aside, I’m sending you loads of strength — to you, your family, and honestly, to everyone in the US who didn’t vote for him and is now stuck dealing with his crap for who knows how long. I really hope this all gets sorted soon. Maybe the length of his term will cut him off at the knees? If there’s a way to stop the chaos he stirred up last time around when he had to leave. I don’t know. I hope so.

If we’re talking about how it all started, then yep, we’re totally on the same page.             Honestly, yes, Trump totally stinks of dictatorship. No doubt about it. And yes, he’s dangerous, especially now that he's basically got the system in his back pocket. Add to that some absolutely foul diplomatic meddling. And… I’ve got to admit, with Musk’s little gesture — the oh-it-was-just-a-salute-but-we-all-know-what-it-was one — that didn’t help things.
            
            As for the puppet states thing, I see what you mean and yes, it makes sense. He hasn’t quite gone full military invasion mode, but there’s some pretty blatant political interference going on. Maybe that leaves a tiny bit of room for countries to push back with democratic leverage? I don’t know. I’m definitely not saying that to shoot down your argument — just, yeah… it all feels off, and I can’t help wondering where this is heading.
            
            And yes, about the censorship — it’s honestly shocking. There aren’t even words. All the red flags of a slide into dictatorship are there: cult of personality (he’d love that), censorship, repression… it really does stink.
