on the night of the partical accelerator explosion beatrice allen was struck by a bolt of lightning. she was in a coma for 9 months and once she woke up she met cisco ramone, caitlin snow, and dr. wells and soon learned how the lightning strike was a product of the explosion. shortly after she realized she had developed superhuman speed and various other powers from it. using these powers she fought evil meta-humans and became known as the streak or red streak which she was later recognized as the flash when iris west renamed her blog.

beatrice nora allen was born on march 14, 1989. she is a scientist in the criminal and forensic science division of central city police department. bea is the daughter of the late henry allen and the late nora allen, the foster daughter of joe west. at some point in her childhood he met iris west who she became best friends with, and soon after formed a crush on her. beatrice is a proud member of the lgbt community as a bisexual women.
