Whilst living in a small village in North Lincolnshire near the River Humber which is rich in Saxon history, I was inspired to write a story after an archaeological dig found a burial mound and Saxon round houses on our village green. Whilst I chose to write my story within fantasy it was heavily influenced by the historical events in 5th century Britain when the Romans left Britain. I have always loved history, mythology, language and fantasy fiction. Having a degree in English and History I forged a story around a young girl growing up in a village not unlike my own, I hope you enjoy her story.
