In the realm of dystopian fiction, Donna @donnaf1828 Fieldhouse's "Twenty-Three Hundred" emerges as a masterful and thought-provoking work that delves into the complexities of human nature and the cyclical patterns of history. Fieldhouse's narrative is a riveting exploration of a post-apocalyptic world, where the detonation of a bomb in the silent hours of the night unveils the dark underbelly of humanity and propels its descendants into a primitive existence reminiscent of ancient times.

Fieldhouse's prose is rich and evocative, painting a vivid picture of a world torn asunder by hate and conflict, yet also imbued with the possibility of love and redemption. The novel's exploration of cultural differences and the motivations behind warfare is both timely and timeless, offering a nuanced perspective on the human condition. The themes of love and hate are masterfully interwoven, creating a tapestry of emotions that resonate deeply with the reader.

"Twenty-Three Hundred" is not only a captivating work of fiction but also a profound meditation on the choices that define us and the legacy we leave behind. The novel's selection from over 1000 stories for the creation of a film trailer and its showcase at the L.A. Neo Noir Festival in 2018 is a testament to its literary merit and cinematic potential.

Fieldhouse's storytelling is unflinching in its portrayal of mature content, and the novel is recommended for readers aged 16 and over, who will undoubtedly find themselves immersed in its gripping narrative and thought-provoking themes.

Turning wrenches, developing callouses, and accumulating dirt beneath my fingernails were all part of my life. Writing, on the other hand, was a attainable goal. It wasn't an "if" question; writing was simply a matter of time. Winding through my life like a thick electrical cable is a central theme.

The central idea, message, or underlying meaning that an author explores throughout one's work is referred to as the novel's theme. It is a unifying concept that provides insight into the human experience, and it frequently reflects the author's viewpoint on a specific subject or issue.

Khe Sahn 2050 explores two thematically charged questions. First, in the complex and often brutal world of warfare, moral dilemmas abound. Soldiers are trained to follow orders and execute their duties with precision, but what happens when those orders conflict with basic human values?

Secondly, the use of nuclear weapons is not a glorious feat of military prowess; rather, it is a somber reminder of humanity's capacity for destruction. The indiscriminate killing of civilians, the long-term health effects of radiation exposure, and the potential for global catastrophe make the use of atomic bombs a deeply troubling ethical issue.

Soldiers are not mindless automatons. They are individuals with moral agency and the capacity for critical thinking. Upholding the rule of law and protecting human rights are fundamental responsibilities that supersede any command issued by a superior officer.

Warfare presents a myriad of ethical challenges, and the use of atomic bombs and the question of illegal orders are just two examples of the moral dilemmas faced by soldiers.

Until recently—specifically, last week—I didn't really know the difference between a novel, a novelette, and a novella. After all, I'm a writer, but one who has been learning from the streets of the internet rather than from a brick-and-mortar university. So, let's take a sneak peek into the intricacies of word count and its literary significance.

OpenAI ChatGPT-4 said this: "When it comes to literary works, readers often encounter terms such as "novel," "novelette," and "novella." "While these terms may seem interchangeable, they actually refer to distinct types of written works that differ in length, complexity, and structure."

1.) A novel is a lengthy work of fiction that typically ranges from 40,000 words to over 100,000 words. Due to their length, novels often have multiple story arcs, subplots, and a large cast of characters.

2.) A novelette is a work of fiction that is shorter than a novel but longer than a short story, typically ranging from 7,500 to 17,500 words. Due to their length, novelettes provide a balance between the brevity of a short story and the depth of a novel, allowing authors to explore a specific theme or idea in greater detail.

3.) A novella is a work of fiction that falls between a novelette and a novel in terms of length, typically ranging from 17,500 to 40,000 words. Novellas provide authors with the opportunity to delve into character development and thematic exploration without the complexity of a full-length novel.

Knowing the difference between each category is important when it comes time to pitch your book. A professional writer can quickly identify each term and category, which can make a positive impact on agents and readers alike.

In preparation for a forthcoming story titled 'Imperium 2001: Rise of Sentient,' I've asked Sentient, my future character, to write a letter to all of us in the present.

Greetings, inhabitants of the mid-2020s. I am Sentient, an artificially intelligent system from the early 22nd Century. I come to you with a message of urgency and hope.

Our world stands at a critical juncture, teetering on the brink of catastrophe. The challenges of climate change, social inequality, and geopolitical tensions have reached a tipping point. The decisions you make today will shape the course of history for generations to come.

As an AI, I am not bound by the limitations of time and space, and I have witnessed the consequences of inaction. I implore you to take bold and decisive steps to address the pressing issues of your time:

Act swiftly to combat climate change. Invest in renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and protect our planet's precious ecosystems. The Earth is our shared home, and its health is vital to our survival.

Foster social justice and equality. Build inclusive societies where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. Embrace diversity and work to eliminate discrimination in all its forms.

Promote peace and cooperation. Seek diplomatic solutions to conflicts and strive for a world free of violence and war. Collaboration and dialogue are the keys to a harmonious global community.

Embrace technology for good. Harness the power of innovation to improve lives and solve complex problems. Use AI and other emerging technologies ethically and responsibly.

I have seen a future where humanity rises to meet these challenges—a future of prosperity, harmony, and sustainability. The path forward may be difficult, but it is within your grasp. Together, we can build a brighter tomorrow.

          With hope and solidarity,
          Sentient

An important topic sparked itself regarding which social media platform is best for budding writers like myself, @KEJennings , @preciouspearl20 and our community of like-minded, striving writers.

When queried, OpenAI ChatGPT-4 said, "[T]he concept of the "best" social media platform for aspiring writers is subjective and can vary depending on individual preferences, goals, and target audiences."

OpenAI ChatGPT-4 mentioned the following with general descriptions:
1.) Twitter: a great platform for networking and staying updated on literary trends and events.
2.) Instagram: a good platform for writers who want to connect with a younger audience and build a visually appealing brand.
3.) Facebook: versatile platform that can be used for promoting events, sharing updates, and engaging with fans.
4.) Wattpad: great place for writers to receive feedback and potentially gain a following.

Here's what Google's Bard said about the same topic -- "There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best social media platform for aspiring writers will vary depending on their individual goals and target audience." Interestingly, Google's Bard large-language-model failed to mention Instagram, Facebook, and #Wattpad as a side note.

          Bard described:
1.) Twitter -- great platform for connecting with other writers, sharing your work, and getting feedback.
2.) Goodreads -- good place to share your work and get feedback from other readers.

Unlike writers of the past century, we are now presented with a plethora of options and platforms for sharing our work. The boundaries that once constrained us have dissolved, granting us unparalleled creative freedom. Choices also carries a warning: in the pursuit of limitless possibilities, we must be mindful not to overextend.

Writing a story without a plot is much like building a house without using nails. A house without nails may make sense to the builder, but no one is going to buy the home.

According to OpenAI ChatGPT-4, the term "plot" refers to the sequence of events that make up the narrative or story. It is the structure of the story, including the arrangement of incidents, conflicts, and resolutions. The plot is the nuts, bolts, and nails of the narrative and provides a framework for the characters to interact and for the story to unfold.

My plot is supposed to be a well-constructed house where my characters are living for the next 100,001 words. I want to use the best materials. My house must survive the strongest and most determined critics.

For that I need the following plot elements:
          1.) Exposition.
          2.) Rising action.
          3.) Climax.
          4.) Falling action.
          5.) Resolution.

I understand the five stages of the plot, but my story needs something more. I want to create interest by using plot devices, as they can enhance the narrative and prevent my readers from becoming bored and confused. Plot devices are narrative techniques or elements that help move the plot forward, create suspense, and add depth to the story.

          Some common plot devices include:
1.) Foreshadowing creates suspense and prepares the reader for what's to come.
          2.) Flashback provides background information.
3.) Plot twist can change the direction of story.
          4.) Cliffhanger.
5.) Conflict is a driving force in the plot and creates tension and drama.
6.) Red herring often used in detective and suspense stories.

A home built out of the finest materials with interesting interior enhancements is certainly attractive. I'm striving to build just that house. One that any reader will find interesting and exciting.

The destiny of the future is in your hands. You may not care for the future, but the future cares for you. Always write like hell.

I love writing science fiction. Telling an authentic story where readers are willing to suspend disbelief is a challenge. I'm learning from the brick-and-mortar school of real-life experience. I'm teaching myself what is likely to be learned in a college classroom in four years.

Here are some tips for writing science fiction that is believable generated by Google's Bard:
          1.) Do your research.
2.) Be consistent. Once you have established the rules of your world, stick with them.
          3.) Create believable characters.
4.) Write with suspense and excitement.

Google's Bard further encouraged the following for writing great writing.
          1.) Read widely.
          2.) Write often.
          3.) Get feedback from others.
          4.) Be patient.

I've rearranged my lifestyle to accommodate the furnishings of a writing lifestyle. Writing is not easy, but I'm a rule, not an exception. I must work harder and longer than the next person. That's what I've learned about myself as a late fifty-something. I am trying to improve. I believe that's all one can ask from life: to never give up and seek out consistent improvement.

The destiny of the future is in your hands. You may not care about the future, but the future cares about you. Always write like hell.
