Just started reading Countryhumans fics in Bahasa Indonesia in here again and WOW has my standards have changed over the past 4 years. Fics that's on my reading list cuz it's 'good' back then is actually kinda... trash to me now. Even my most favorites back then fell into this-- inconsistent writing style, bad format, grammar that looks more like the author's texting instead of actually writing for story (yes, if your fic is full of "yg" instead of "yang", "ekor2" instead of "ekor-ekor" and everything that relates to it, I will immediately turn off from it. I will judge a fic based on its grammar and how sentences are structured), and don't get me started with the actual plot itself. I kinda miss fics that focuses on JUST the countries, and not insert some banned organization that's actually a country's evil brother that's prepared to possess and use them as a slave or something.
          
          I know some fics are like... 2 years old at best, but dang these people really knows how to break a story's pace by inserting an author's commentary before and after each chapter + a QnA/cast/announcements chapter midway to the story. If you treat this as a book like how Wattpad promotes their works, it will NOT look good and I don't like it. Same with fanfiction(.)net honestly, at least AO3 has a separate section for you to insert your commentary and notes.
          
          I'm open to suggestions cuz I'm sure good ones that goes up to my standards do exist out there, I just need to dig a bit further. However I don't think anyone who's fans of Countryhumans are in the room right now + I think the fandom's getting quieter in the fanfiction aspect ngl... or is it just me being outta the loop?

I should probably promote my AO3 account, as most of my recent works are published there. I have an ongoing series there (currently making the third part rn) and currently have no interest putting it in Wattpad. 
          
          I have an idea for a Countryhumans novel (...hooh boy), but I'm not sure if it'll go well. If I do write it, I'm planning to publish that in Wattpad, so keep an eye on that!

For a while, this will be a place for me to rant about the Countryhumans fandom in Wattpad, specifically the ones who are 9-12+ years old Indonesian fans. I'll admit I was one of them, and the way they write now is almost EXACTLY the same as how I used to write. I'm ashamed admitting that, but the only thing I can do now is improving myself and others.
          
          Now, the itty gritty. One of my main problems with the fandom here is not just 1. terrible story plot, 2. Using an artist's art for a cover without credit, 3. Terrible writing style, but also the ignorance of normalizing inappropriate stuff like VOC x PKI or Indo x PKI by using the mindset of "gak suka? gausah baca. gak ada hubungannya ama sejarah. mudah kan?"
          
          I hate generalizing a specific community, but these are common problems I occurred over and over again, and most of which are done by innocent children who are in their pre or early teens who don't understand shit. This also happens often in Instagram as well, so many arts and stories about shipping colonizer x colonized is disgusting for me. So many of them normalizes this shit like it's not even funny. "gak ada hubungannya ama sejarah" don't give me that bullshit. You are romancing a humanoid version of a problematic organization that almost killed the country and is considered banned by the government. For me, what this community has been doing is the equivalent of normalizing pedophile and incest. Even if a person notices these problems, decides to ignore it, because "it's for fun!! it's fiction, why do you hate when ppl enjoy stuff?"
          
          Said fiction involves real life countries and organizations.
