"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."

          	-2 Chronicles 15:7

There are quite a few verses in Scripture that encourage us to be strong and not to give up. (Joshua 1:9, Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 35:4)

Why do you think that is? Well, it's because we are a feeble race who bend and break whenever something difficult enters our lives. But the truth is, (and it's honestly the best truth to ever exist) the God that created us has declared to us that He is always there to lift us up when our strength gives out.

But that isn't the only thing that He has promised to us. He has promised us, that when we faithfully carry out a task that He has called us to do, there is a reward for our efforts. But what about when we have been given a promise from God and we are obedient to His voice and yet the reward hasn't shown up yet? What do we do then?

We do not give up. Even though it feels like we're swimming through an un-ending ocean. Wasn't it Paul who said, 'do not grow weary in doing good, but keep going because you will reap a just reward'?

Yes, even doing what we are instructed to do can cause us to get dejected and weary, especially when we have been waiting for what feels like such a long time. But as Scripture has shown us today, we mustn't give up. We mustn't allow ourselves to become weary, because the joy and presence of the Lord is our strength and we shall always have help from God whenever we ask for it.

You know that heaviness you feel

Do you know that heaviness you feel? That feeling that overwhelms you and feels like a burden? God wants to hear about it. God wants to help you. God wants to know.

Philippians 4:6
          ESV
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Worry barely accomplishes anything. Worry often leads to panic, anxiety, hopelessness, and frustration. There's hardly any benefits to worrying.

Worry is something that often comes from a root of lack of trust in God. Lack of trust in God often comes from lack of knowledge and revelation of who He is and what He is capable of doing.

But you know what doesn't have those effects. Prayer. Prayer accomplishes  things, worry doesn't. Prayer leads to peace while worry anxiety. Prayer leads to hope while worry leads to hopelessness.

I personally have tried to make it a habit that whenever I worry to pray on the spot. If it's about the future, I would rather pray about it and surrender it. If it's a doubt about myself, I pray about it.

Whenever I truly spent time with God in prayer regarding areas in my life, that brings anxiety. I would feel peace afterward and rest. Hope will fill my heart, and I begin to feel joyful again.

Lord, I concentrate my life, my mouth to speak your word, my eyes to see clearly, my ears to understand, my hands to serve you and my body to be your temple. In Jesus name amen.

I'm precious and valuable

          Proverbs 31:10
          NKJV
          The Virtuous Wife
10 Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.

As women, we have a beautiful value in the eyes of God. We aren't objects. We are equal image bearers that God loves and treasures.  Remind yourself that you hold value in God's eyes, and even if to the world you lost it, to Him, you could never because He made you.

A good mother, a genuine mother, would never stop seeing her kids as beautiful despite their physical appearance or anything. Her love is unwavering, but that's not a thing compared to our God.

You have value in God's eyes, and that value can never deteriorate.

Acts 12:5-11
          NKJV
          Peter Freed from Prison
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. 6 And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands. 8 Then the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and tie on your sandals"; and so he did. And he said to him, "Put on your garment and follow me." 9 So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they werepast the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people."

Peter slept when he was in. Prison and Jesus slept during a storm. This reminds me of how Peter didn't let his circumstances disturb his peace. When we are in danger we are restless. Imagine sleeping in peace where you're held captive and guards are near you.

Peter rested. He didn't panic or be to complain. He held steadfast to the truth. Peter could've remembered how Jesus was once in a similar situation. There was a storm yet Jesus was sound asleep (Mark 4:38). He learned what it means to have peace and rest in a storm.

If you feel anxious and worried, I want to introduce you to someone who can take that worry and give you peace when you cry out to Him. It's the Holy Spirit and I challenge you to talk to Him today.

It's important to acknowledge God in everything. This captivates a heart of gratitude but also a heart that appreciates the gifts you gave. Whenever you hear good news or receive something positive, learn to thank God.

When someone does something good for you, whether they give physical gifts or emotional support and advice, learn to praise God for them. Thank God when it's a bright, sunny day. Thank God for rain. Thank God even if your favourite team wins a game. Thank God for your pastor, your worship team, your work, and your job. Thank God for someone's act of kindness,  for completing your assignments or simply passing your grade.

Learning to praise on the spot, even for the littlest actions someone does, will help you have a pure heart.

I Can Overcome this

          John 16:33
          NIV
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When you receive a positive word from God, whether a promise, a dream, a vision, or encouragement to do something, know there will be problems that will arise. This is a fact, but you can take heart that you'll overcome just like Jesus overcame all the trials thrown at Him.

You can overcome them too, not because you're strong enough but because in Him, who has overcome everything. You can, too.

@She_Flourishes this verse was the one that i was reading during the first time that every doubt in my head was killed on the spot.
            Hebrews 13:5-6
"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
