-My own life decisions are questionable, and, unfortunately, so are my characters'. I suppose I can't be expected to create sensible people when I'm still figuring things out myself.

-I don't believe in black or white. I believe in grey. Because people are complicated, intentions are messy, and no character is ever entirely good or entirely bad. You'll find flaws, contradictions, questionable choices, and perhaps a few people you shouldn't be rooting for (but probably will).

-And when I say I don't know what's going to happen next, I mean it. I discover my stories as I write them. Sometimes the characters surprise me, sometimes the plot takes a turn I never saw coming, and sometimes I'm just as confused as my readers.
