If Love Is All I Can Give You

Everyone knows I'm a mess. But a mess can still be a little kinder then necessary. Usually the mess is the person who feels the need to love everyone. People always tell me to treat others the way I treat myself, but I don't want to hurt them like that. So here is some better advice.

Treat yourself like you treat others. 

I'm hurt. I'm depressed. I'm anxious. I cry myself to sleep. My family hates me. But I'll treat myself like an angel because you told me to, and I can't disobey someone so wonderful as you.

I'm Fine: This phrase is a cry for help. Your friend is drowning and going deeper and deeper. They hide behind a smile and insist they're 'fine' but really they wake up every day and see the words "ugly" painted across their foreheads. How are they fine?

Keep that in mind when you talk to your friends you know hurt. They need you as much as you need them and they are worth every second of your worry, and they want it, no matter how much they pretend not too.

I've lost a friend to suicide and it crushed me. I have never been more hurt in my life, I didn't eat, I didn't sleep, and I cried until my eyes were dry. If you are considering suicide you should know that so many people care. And what about your family? You think they're going to find you dead, turn on their favorite song, and clean up the mess? No. They're going to break, and hurt, and cry. Before you make a rash decision know that people care. I care. And if you ever doubt that talk to me, I'll show you how wrong you are.

If you love something, love it completely, cherish it, say it, but most importantly, show it. Life is finite and fragile, and just because something is there one day, it might not be the next. Never take that for granted.

Say what you need to say, then say a little more. Say too much, show too much, love too much.

Everything is temporary but love. Love outlives us all.
