Heyyy.
I have a question that I think some one here might be bow to answer.
I want to write a story that isn’t America centric, but sadly American history is all we’re taught. And the world wars I suppose, but I feel like story’s about that are in abundance. So, I would like to ask if there are any historical events about a country, your or not, that you find interesting that I could be able to base a story around. You can tell what you like about it, but I will also do my own research on it as well so I can feel somewhat qualified to write fiction about it.
No one has to, but I’d really love to.

@StarC00ki3 Me, someone who writes hustorical fiction: *cracks knuckles* - Russian revolution is always a fun one, there's a bunch of information out there on that and it's also so hacking fascinating - You could do the world wars but do a country that's not talked about much, e.g. I'm writing a book set in ww2 Belgium and looking at events such as the 20th convoy and le faux Soir, also planning on doing one based in Lithuania too - AUSTRALIAN HISTORY IS REALLY FASCINATING AND JAM-PACKED You could do one on the convicts, free settlers, world war two Australia, potentially cold war Australia and maybe have a Russian immigrant or something become friends and challenge societal expectations, you could do the rachmaninoffing emu war for all I care THATS FUNNY - If you wanted to get really dark you could do the Congo Free State under Belgian rule (its pretty dark tho) - Soviet Union, someone trying to escape Stalin, the usual - You could do someone in France or Russia or something during the Napoleonic Wars (especially 1812) - *Romanovs* - Vietnam war, etc SO MANY SO MANY TOPICS

Y’all, I’m like 26 actual chapters into this post apocalyptic(there was an attempt at steampunk but it got thrown out the window so I’ll try again with a different set of characters-) Hetalia AU and I’m realising that it’s probably gonna be at least 10 more chapters long. AT LEAST. And I don’t think I can last that long before actually posting it and I’m dying inside because I actually think I did it justice?? I seriously wanna share it but at the same time I don’t know how many people actually would read it but I swear to mother Gaia that I don’t think I could live if I didn’t post it. And I don’t even have a cover-
I’m having a whole mental crisis right now and it’s strange cause they’re all normally over the stuff I’ve got to actually do in society not my hobbies and it’s strange.
I just ranted for absolutely no reason I’m so sorry.

I’ve made a terrible realisation today.
I literally trauma dump on these characters in the most reverse way possible. I make as many siblings loving and caring as possible because mine hates me and I’m so emotionally stunted that I fail to try and fix anything. I make good dad characters cause mine ain’t. I make absentee moms cause mine is the only reliable parent.
I have issues. Normally people directly put their trauma onto their characters and I’m just. Backwards. Welp. Funt times, amirite?
Anyway, how was you day? I’m bored, so why not ask?

@Parkers-In-Crime Hallelujah- I think perhaps I just find myself reading from writers who directly put their trauma onto characters, so I just feel strange not doing the same, you know? Good to know I’m not totally losing it

@StarC00ki3 I think that's actually a common thing with writers. We write what we need. I do the same; I write epic siblings closely age, daughters with close bonds with their dads, characters that don't really have friends but are totally fine by it, really deep yet simple romances and relationships and the biggest reoccurring thing is a bittersweet ending where stuff has happened and maybe not everything worked out, but they kept going and they realise that everything's going to be ok Don't worry, you're not mental, you're just as sane as we are
